The SSG Landers will face the LG Twins on April 19 at SSG Landers Field in Incheon. SSG is coming off a 4-8 upset loss to LG in 12 extra innings the day before, their fourth straight loss.
SSG remains in second place, one game behind third-place KT. SSG will start ace Kim Kwang-hyun to try and snap the losing streak. He is 7-4 with a 3.40 ERA in 19 games this season.
Manager Kim Won-hyung revealed in the pregame press briefing that he will be without three pitchers from his bullpen. Here’s what he had to say

“Hyo-joon Ko is not available because of his pitch count. Lee has pitched three straight games, and Choi Min-jun is also not available today. -On what he didn’t like about yesterday’s game.
“A lot of things. I was disappointed with (Moon Seung-won’s) walk in the seventh inning. Hyo-joon Ko’s walk after the second inning, the error after the run… (SSG had three walks in the seventh inning).”

“He’s going to have a lot on his mind after making a mistake, and I wanted him to take care of it (at the plate).”
-On how he plans to approach his two losses to Lim Chan-kyu.
“It’s a bad time for players. Their confidence is down, but in times like this, I want them to hit aggressively. It’s not easy to respond to two strikes. I want them to come up to bat with a lot of confidence and be aggressive.”
-McCarty on throwing well.
“McCarty continues to pitch so well right now. He’s striking out a lot and he’s pitching aggressively…He should have gone seven innings (laughs), but he’s got a good tempo. He’s similar to Kim Kwang-hyun.”
