“Worth $10.9 billion, perfect one-year deal candidate” free agent Ryu Hyun-jin has ‘starting hole’ Milwaukee eyeing

This time, it’s the Milwaukee Brewers. The Milwaukee Brewers have been mentioned as a possible destination for Ryu Hyun-jin, 36, next season. 메이저사이트

BVM Sports, an American media outlet, reported on the 15th (KST), “With Brandon Woodruff undergoing shoulder surgery, the Brewers should consider an outside acquisition. With Woodruff set to miss the entire season next year, a veteran pitcher as a free agent is also being considered.”

The veteran pitcher in question is Ryu Hyun-jin.

“There are three veteran pitchers – Hyun-jin Ryu, Kyle Gibson and Carlos Carrasco – that Milwaukee could potentially sign. They are expected to have a market value of $10 million or less and could provide valuable depth to the starting rotation.”

Woodruff was on the operating table that day. It was expected, actually. His postseason start was canceled due to shoulder soreness before the Wild Card Series.

His shoulder was also bothering him this season. After going on the disabled list with right shoulder inflammation after pitching just two games in April, Woodruff didn’t return until August. His record this season is 5-1 with a 2.28 ERA in 11 games and 67 innings pitched.

He tried to redeem himself in the fall, but it didn’t work. The shoulder pain returned, and he ended up having surgery.

In seven major league seasons, he went 46-26 with a 3.10 ERA and 788 strikeouts in 130 games and 680⅓ innings. Among pitchers with at least 600 innings in a Milwaukee uniform, Woodruff’s ERA and WHIP (1.05) are the best in franchise history.

That said, he will be out of the starting rotation next season. He will need at least a year of rehabilitation.

It’s an emergency for Milwaukee. They need to find a starting pitcher immediately, and that’s where Ryu’s name comes in.

According to WeeSportsHeroics, “The 36-year-old Ryu made a successful return to the mound this year after undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2022. In 11 starts, he posted a 3.46 ERA and 1.29 WHIP. Entering his first full year back from injury in 2024, Ryu is better than he was after a perfect one-year deal. He is projected to have a market value of $8.1 million according to the statistical site SPOTRAC.”
